i love rock & roll.

Something I am definitely a huge fan of is music.
But, I mean, really, who isn't?
Music is quite literally the soundtrack to our lives.
Just like in a good movie or tv show, certain songs or artists remind me of a specific point in my life.
My tastes in music are pretty varied.
I used to be a country girl.
I also went through a HUGE pop phase, although you can ask anyone, I still love me some Britney!
I've listed Metallica as one of my favorites, along with Dave Matthews Band and Outkast.

So, in thinking about music, I started running down the list of musical acts that I have seen live.

Death Cab for Cutie
Death Cab for Cutie/Magik*Magik Orchestra
Deftones - twice

Aerosmith/Fuel
Dave Matthews Band - 3 times
Paramore/New Found Glory/Tegan and Sara
ACL Fest 2009 :: Dave Matthews Band/The Knux/Kings of Leon/Phoenix/Citizen Cope/Mute Math/Passion Pit/Toadies/Thievery Corporation (I know there were more, these are just the ones I remember.)

I know there are more (obscure) concerts that I have seen over the years, they just aren't coming to me at this moment.
Right now, the only band I have left on my "bucket list" is Outkast (please, please get back together!) and quite possibly Arcade Fire.
There, of course, could be more bands added to that list at any given moment.
In 2012, the hubs and I saw two shows, Radiohead and DCfC/Magik*Magik Orchestra.
They were both phenomenal.
Sidenote :: we actually saw DCfC two times in a matter of about 6 months (and I would TOTALLY see them again, in a heartbeat).
Definitely our favorite "shared" band. :)

I had to add this image. I absolutely love it. My kids are growing up around lots of music and I hope it ends up being as big a part of their lives as it is to the hubs and I.

What shows did you see in 2012?
What show do you still need to cross off your list?

peace, love, and all things sparkly.

  1. I don't like going to shows much anymore but I'd say Arcade Fire, Yeah Yeah Yeahs, and Modest Mouse.

  3. 2012 shows were: My So-Called Band (2x), Mumford & Sons, Dawes, Justin Townes Earle, Apache Relay, Natalie Stovall, Seasick Mama, ZZ Ward (2x), and Yellow Red Sparks. :)

As for who I want to see and haven't yet:
    FOO.
    Radiohead.

And I think that's it, really, though I do want to see Avett at some point, and I'd go see Mumford again right now if I could get tickets. :)
